Who it suits

Buyers who want boutique scale and finish at the center of the downtown grid, with everything walkable.

How it compares to the other downtown towers is in which downtown Austin building is right for you. What to read before an offer in any of them is in what to know before buying.

Living here

Fifth & West is the boutique tower of the west side of downtown. With 164 residences it has a fraction of the population of the towers around it, which shows in the lobby, the elevators and the amenity deck. The finish level was set high at delivery and the building has kept it.

The location is the argument. West Avenue and Fifth puts Whole Foods, the Second Street restaurants, the Seaholm district and the lake trail all within a few minutes on foot, and the west facing residences look out over Shoal Creek and the hills rather than into another tower.

Questions buyers ask about Fifth & West Residences

How is Fifth & West different from the bigger towers?

Scale. Fewer residences means fewer people in the elevator and on the deck, a lobby that recognizes you, and a building culture closer to a boutique hotel than a vertical neighborhood. The trade is a smaller amenity program than the largest towers.

Which direction should I face?

West and northwest for Shoal Creek, the hills and sunsets; east for the skyline. Each has a different noise and light profile, and specific lines vary. Ask Liz which lines she would look at for how you plan to live.

Can I bring my dog?

The building is pet friendly and the location is one of the easiest downtown for dogs, with Shoal Creek and the lake trail close. Confirm current pet rules and any size limits before you offer.
